230 JOURNAL OF THE SENATE. NOES—Messrs. Abernathy, Burnes, Chiles, Ellison, Hancock, Jones of Franklin, Long, Nickel, Norris, and Polk—10. Absent—Messrs. Flournoy, and Price. Sick—Mr. Hudspeth. Mr. Hancock offered the following amendment, by way of ryder, to- come in as an additional section: § —. That nothing in this*act shall be so construed as to apply to the counties of Green, Taney, Ozark, Barry, and Lawrence, or to interfere with the distributive share of the proceeds of the sales of the 500,000' acre grant coming to said counties. Tho ryder was read, when On motion of Mr. Jackson, A call of the Senate was ordered. The roll being called, the number of Senators answering to their names was 31. Absent—Mr. Flournoy. Sick—Mr. Hudspeth. The sergeant-at-arms was despatched to notify the absentee; Mr. Flournoy having appeared, On motion, Further proceedings under the call were dispensed with. The question recurring on the rejection of the ryder offered by Mr. Hancock, Was decided in the affirmative by ayes and noes, which were ordered and are as follows: AYES—Messrs. Bean, Burtis, Campbell, Edwards, Ellison, Gatewood, Jackson, Jones of Cooper, Leslie, Long, Lowe, Owens, Price, Priest, Reed, Rollins, Stewart, Wells, White, Woolfolk, and Wyatt—21. NOES—Messrs. Abernathy, Burnes, Chiles, Hancock, Jones of Franklin, Jones of Newton, Nickel, Norris, Polk, and Williams—10. Absent—Mr. Flournoy. Sick—Mr. Hudspeth. Mr. Polk moved to amend by way of ryder, as follows: This act shall not be so construed as to apply to the counties of Madison, Reynolds,sRipIey, Oregon, Texas and Wright. The ryder was read, and objections being made; The question, "Shall the ryder be rejected?" Was decided affirmatively by ayes and noes, as follows:
