602 JOURNAL OF THE SENATE. Senator Phelan, from the Committee of the St. Louis Delegation, submitted the following report: Mr. President: Your Committee of the St. Louis Delegation, to which was referred House bill No. 705, entitled An act to amend chapter 84 of the General Statutes of Missouri, being chapter-25 of Wagner's Statutes, "Of Burial Grounds and their Protection," beg leave to report that they have considered the same, and recommend that it do pass; which was read. Senator Phelan moved that the rule be suspended, the bill be read the third time, and put upon its passage; which was agreed to, and the bill passed by the following vote: AYES—Senators Abney, Ake, Belch, Biggs, Edwards, Gatewood, Halligan, Ittner, Keller, Kirtley, LaDue, McGinnis, Mclntyre, Morrisson, Mosby, Newberry, Patterson, Paxton, Perkins, Phelan, Rubey, Seay, Strother, Terry, Thompson, Wear, Wight, Williams, Wyatt and Young—30. Absent—Senators Brace, Price, Rozier, Shelby—4. The title of the bill was read and agreed to. Senator Phlean moved to reconsider the vote by which the bill passed, and to lay the motion on the table; which was agreed to. Senator Young, from the Committee on Claims, submitted the following report: Mr. President: Your Committee on Claims, to which was referred Substitute for House bill No. 428, entitled An act to pay James H. Preston and Samuel W. Scovern for damages sustained by reason of leasing of the Missouri Penitentiary, beg leave to report that they have considered the same, and recommend that it do pass; which was read. Senator Young moved that the rule be suspended, the bill read the third time, and put upon its passage; which was agreed to, and the bill passed by the following vote: AYES—Senators Abney, Ake, Belch, Ittner, Keller, Kirtley, LaDue, McGinnis, Mclntyre, Morrisson, Patterson, Paxton, Price, Rozier, Seay, Wear, Wight, Williams, Wyatt and Young—20. NOES—Senators Biggs, Brace, Edwards, Gatewood, Halligan, Mosby, Newberry, Perkins, Phelan, Rubey, Strother and Terry—12. Absent—Senators Shelby and Thompson.
