The people of Missouri have received from this Regiment, wherever it has gone, sure protection, and non among the Missouri State Militia has a juster claim to their regard. No Regimental reports are on file concerning its engagements with the enemy. It is called to the following good discipline, and will be heard from effectually whenever emergency re- Attention is called to the following orders respecting the Regimental organization STATE OF MISSOURI, ST. LOUIS, May 6, 1862. GENERAL ORDERS, No. 17. I.... The following Regimental organization of the Missouri State Militia has been perfected viz: The 9th Regiment of Cavalry, companies: Company A, Captain Reeves Leonard. Company B, Captain Samuel A. Garth. Company C, Captain Daniel M. Draper. Company D, Captain Benjamin Sharp. Company E, Captain Albert Brackman. Company F, Captain Henry N. Cook. Company G, Captain Thomas B. Reed. Company H, Captain Henry S. Glaze. 9th Regiment of II..The following Field Captain Staff Officers of the 9th Regiment of Cavalry, Missouri State Militia, have been appointed: Odon Guitar, to be Colonel from May 3, 1862. John F. Williams, to be Lieutenant Colonel from May 3, 1862. Daniel M. Draper, to be Major from May 3, 182. uartermastefrom William B. Draper, to be 1st Lieutenant and Regimental William B. Kemper, to be 1st Lieutenant and Regimental Quartermaster from February 20, 1862. Joseph D. Smith, to be Regimental Surgeon from May 3,1862. III.... Colonel Odon Guitar, Commanding the 9th Regiment of Cavalry, Missouri State Militia, will report by letter to Brigadier General John M. Schofield, Headquarters St. Louis, Missouri, for orders, and will cause duly certified muster-in Rolls of the Field and Staff to be forwarded to the office of the Adjutant General. By order of the Commander-in-Chief: WILLIAM D. WOOD, Colonel and Acting, Adjutant General. HEADQUARTERS, STATE OF MISSOURI, ADJUTANT GENERAL OFFICE ST. LOUIS, February 2, 1863. GENERAL ORDERS, No. 5. I.... In compliance with an act of Congress approved July 17, 1862, and General Orders, No. 126, series 1862, frm the War Deprtment, the following consolidation of the Regiments composing the Missouri State Militia, organized under General Orders, No. 96, War Deprtment, series 1861, is announced for the information of all concerned. * * * * * * * * * *
