Jaworski reopening Humphrey fund study NY N. N Y Times Service WASHINGTON The Watergate Special S ecial Prosecutor Leon A. A Jaworski has reopened an investigation of Sen Hubert H. H Humphreys Humphrey's 1972 presidential campaign specifically to determine the responsibility bili ty for reportedly illegal corporate con con- contributions contributions contributions from the dairy industry authoritative sources said Friday The prosecutors prosecutor's inquiry is un un- understood understood un- un understood to parallel work by the Senate Watergate Committee which was told in a staff report last week that Associated Milk Producers Inc had paid to a contractor of computer services for work that was actually done for the Humphrey campaign According to the staff report Jack Chestnut the Humphrey campaign manager was aware and promoted this arrangement with knowledge that Associated Milk Producers was using corporate funds for what was indeed a political contribution thus against the law Jaworski and Humphrey both declined to comment on the reports of a anew anew anew new investigation Chestnut who practices law in Minneapolis was reported to be on vacation and unavailable for comment Other wit wit- witnesses witnesses witnesses nesses in the case confirmed they had been questioned extensively on the matter by the prosecutors prosecutor's office Two contributors to Humphreys Humphrey's abortive 1972 campaign were convicted last year of campaign law violations Later this month Dwayne Andreas long an intimate Humphrey friend and backer will go on trial for a 1968 contribution con con- contribution contribution drawn from a corporate account and later repaid with personal funds which the special prosecutors prosecutor's office charges was illegal The Minnesota Mining and Corporation and its chairman Harry Heltzer pleaded guilty last fall to charges that they disguised corporate contributions to the 1972 Humphrey campaign as personal gifts
