Geisha Look Spells Mystery By Laarel Brantman Missourian Staff Writer A symbol of old world Japan filled with rituals the Geisha girl look is influencing American makeup hair styles and md fashions The Geisha is a look at at but dont touch look Painted and wigged with utmost precision the look is almost dots dou tie TO ACHIEVE THE LOOK though not as ex ex- ex- ex for normal occasions start with a light foundation Keeping the feminine blush make definite de nite triangular shapes of rouge slanting up toward the eyes Eyes follow the Oriental slant with black eyeliner drawn from the inner to the outer corner of the eye getting progressively thicker toward the outer corner and extending in an upsweep ABOVE THE BLACK LINE starting at the middle mid mid- middle middle dle of the eyelid draw a Ii thin red line becoming thicker at the outer corner also ending in an upsweep To finish the Geisha eye look at the very outer corner of the eye make a small smail red dot Darken brows slightly with dark eyebrow pencil Complete the makeup with cherry red lips THE ORIENTAL SLANT also is being seen in fashions The sharpest prettiest newest look to wear at homo home or to holiday parties is something reminiscent of the old world Try a 3 classic body skimming silk or wool chon chop san slit from ankle to thigh at the sides BE THE BRIGHT SPOT of the party in an Oriental pant suit A thousand flowers bloom on the long tunic lunic type garb made of layer upon layer of red lacquer flowered silk georgette piped and in bright lilac Add a pair of red lacquer-red crepe de chine pants for the total look Look like a serene Geisha girl guarding all secrets in m a skim of white jersey with buttons down the side from mandarin collar to the floor FLAUNT AN ORIENTAL fantasy in a brocaded leotard with huge red chiffon sleeves worn WOIn over bright red tights lights A short sleeved ankle length T I Ira ra w T c THE GEISHA GIRL today wears up make-up similar to that worn a century ago up Make-up by Merle Norman Missourian photo by Marshall Marvelli chung pow in black crepe adds the final touches It may be tied back or wrapped at the side Pile mounds of hair on top of your head pierce with chopsticks and you are a Geisha Girl for the evening The nape of the neck according to Japanese men suggests alluring possibilities possibilities-
