There I is s No Connect Says Leddicotte While at on the Lake of the Ozarks our group was given a talk by Mr George Leddicotte Associate Professor of Nuclear Engi Engi- Engineering Engineering and Radiochemistry at atthe atthe atthe the University of Missouri In his talk Mr Leddicotte used u ed his hi personal observations and those of other scientists to show us that there is no con con- conflict conflict between science and reli reli- religion gion Mr Leddicotte cotte stated that although althou h scientists are still stilt looking for reasons for forthe forthe forthe the existence of the many won won- wonders wonders wonders ders of earth they the usually come back balk to the idea that all this life and beauty couldn't just happen ha A supreme being with a master plan had to create all of these things Most scientists st are of the opinion that someone far greater than man created the wonders of the earth and the planets and the universe Science and religion both have the same general pur pur- pose They seek seck to learn le the truth They go fio about it dif dif- differently differently but they arrive e at atthe atthe atthe the same sane conclusions The scientist is a dedicated man searching for the truth and the answers to his questions A minister is much the same way He is looking for the truth that is within the Bible and he seeks answers from front God to his leis questions The main point of the talk as it dealt with the scientists is this Very Very- few scientists are atheists as their observations strengthen their belief in a supreme being Darwin one of the greatest scientists of all time was a devout Christian throughout his life and his ob ob- observations observations made him even more devout Scientists and God go together Ted Fleener Calvary C vary Baptist t
