I Razor nor lade Blade iJ 1 a s i r t I WASHINGTON UPI UPU Any Any Any- Anyone Anyone one old enough to shave undoubtedly is aware of the t razor blade revolution taking I place in America Revolutionary new blades are being introduced in gay profusion seemingly at the rate of about one a month Each is bailed hailed as a scientific break break- breakthrough breakthrough through second only to the I invention of the inflatable brassiere The most significant feature of the new blades is I their longevity This cuts two ways playing Long-playing blades spare the shaver a certain amount of trouble and expense But they make it difficult for him to keep abreast of the times I buy a B package of blades and before I can use them all they become obsolete a friend of f mine mule complained recently There is as much potential mileage in a single blade as there used to be in an entire pack In other words when you buy a pack of blades you are involving yourself in a II long Ions term commitment The TheLi Li Lighter Lighters s Side By Dick West Lets say some company introduces a n new blade that has been stropped 1000 times on costly Swiss The blades blade you have been using have neve h ve only been stropped times on cheap Swiss 0 0 0 You V ou naturally want to switch to the new blade but you still have a couple of blades left in the old pack Prudence dictates that you use them first By that time however some other company will have introduced a new blade with an S B invisible protective coating You are now one jump behind and your chances of ever catching up again are ere practically nil Before n you can possibly get through a package of cf Swiss stropped blades and start on a pack of blades with invisible protective coat coating ing jag some SlIme other company will introduce a blade with a micro micro- thin U n edge And so on onI onI onI I am therefore proposing that someone organize a 8 Blade Blade- the of-the-Month Club so that shavers can keep current without building up a big backlog of unused blades My friend may have a good idea but 1 I think K h too will soon be obsolete I predict that in the not far distant future some orne company will w 11 introduce a blade that will wilt last a lifetime The razor blades win will be handed down from frem father to son the way once passed along those big turnip watches When the blades finally do become dull people will put them on OD the shelf with the other heirlooms
